Richard C. Starr, 73, Algoma, passed away at home Thursday, December 18, 2025.
He was born March 6, 1952, in Algoma to Marvin and Emily (Zirbel) Starr Sr. Richard graduated from Algoma High School in 1970.
He worked at Door-Co in Sturgeon Bay, then he worked at Olsonite until the plant closed. Richard was a bartender for a number of years at Brann's and at Moe's in Rio Creek. Then he was a clerk at Graf's Mobil, and finished up his career at Walmart in Sturgeon Bay.
He enjoyed going to all of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and just spending time with family. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, softball, scratch offs and the Chicago Bears, Cubs and Black Hawk's.
Richard is survived by his children Adam (Carolyn) Starr, Tina (Brian) Werkheiser, Shawn (Rachael) Starr, Rebecah (Joe) Starr, Kimberly Starr, James Starr, Connie (Cheryl) Neuzil and Amanda (Davy) Barragan; Grandchildren Alex, Isabella, Emma, Connor, Davyn, Durron, Raelyn, Davion, Dayvondre, Nyvah, Aiden, Mia, Alex, Albert, Jesina, Ryley, Davy Jr., Atom, Zuleyka and Cami; other extended family, Bonnie, Debbie, Holly (Jeff), Loretta (Mike), Sharon, Melissa and sister-in-law Yvonne,
He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Jason, father-in-law Arlan Neuzil, brother Marvin Jr. (Bud), sister and brother-in-law Helen (Leo), brothers-in-law Bill and Robert (Bo), and his best friend Prince.
Richard was a truly kind, loving and welcoming man to everyone he met. His definition of family transcended bloodlines. He made you feel welcome from day one of meeting him. He truly enjoyed spending time with everyone.
There will be a gathering and Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, from 3:00 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM. with Rev. Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating.
